Here is webpage of '8hz-mp3' that is MPEG Audio Layer-3 encoder. Please download it, if you are necessary, because (I put latest 8hz-mp3 that) modified here.

The latest version is 8hz-mp3 v02b for Win32 03J (98/08/03 released version).

This program is a MPEG Audio Layer-3 encoder. An original source file is in http://www.8hz.com/mp3/.
There is a bug a little in an original latest version. Therefore, I modified this program.
The parameter that has compatible with L3ENC. EXE, from the 01J version that I disclosed to 1998/7/5 has come to be received. The GUI front end tool for L3ENC. EXE is able to use it as it is. It is although there is a little restriction.

Because I added the modification by Mr. Mike Cheng from the 02J version that disclosed to 1998/7/13, it became fairly fast.
http://www.cryogen.com/mikecheng/ with you can obtain the one that Mr. Mike Cheng modified. The modification to m10 is being reflected on 02J version. Please pay attention, because the MP3 file where generates, seemed that there was a part of bug in data initialization is changing from formerly. May there is not an influence in a quality probably.

Even if an original GUI front end installation version is delayed, because other GUI front end became able to use it in the meantime, a problem disappeared. A main occupation I became busy and remained to work and was not spent time and became.
Even need may have already faded, because an excellent front end is appearing on the stage before it.

Present situation (on July 13, 1998)

I am modifying several bugs little by little, although I am not that I modify it so extensively, because a main occupation is busy now. It is not possible to be remarkable, because I do not have a skill much.

Future

I am going to materialize the item that I raise below, because I think that a big bug modified it in the meantime.

  1. Make a Win32 DLL version
  2. Release the API specification of a Win32 DLL version
  3. Release source files and feeds and backs into 8hz
  4. Even the output function of RMP file gives it, besides the output of an ID3TAG is included in a MP3 file
  5. Make ACM(Audio Compression Manager) if the way to make and developmental environment are assembled
  6. There is a bug in the part of a CRC computation and the correct result seems to not obtained. Can I fix this? :-)

Can really I materialize it? :-)
